Oh how I love these, but I just can’t…
Now, get you mind out of the gutter, this is not what you think 😉 This is all about a pair of shoes.. Yes that’s right.. A pair of shoes!
Huh?
Christmas party 2007, Houston, Texas. I got invited to my company’s Christmas party in Houston. I had been over there for 4 months, and when I packed for my couple of months trip to help out the IT department, I couldn’t have dreamed up needing to pack for a Christmas party…
So I went shopping 🙂 and found these gorgeous silver “oh my gosh how high heels” shoes, that I just had to have.
I have no idea what I was thinking… I’m a typical tomboy, you know, flat shoes, barefoot kinda girl, so what was I thinking buying such high heels? I should have known they would kill me just about 5 minutes into the party 😉
And I was right… it was a beautiful party, with lots of fun, and the shoes did look good on me 😉 But boy was I happy when I could peel them of my feet, getting in the car, going home that night 🙂
And you guessed it – they have never been used again. Their just as pretty as they ever was, I just can’t do it…
So it’s time to let go! I will never forget the party, and don’t need the shoes as a reminder. So out-the-door they go, my beautiful tortures silver party shoes 😉
Ah it’s so difficult getting rid of pretty things! I have a weakness for pretty clothes which look good on me …but if I don’t wear them, what’s the point of them? Good on you for letting go!

Yeah, I know, no reason to keep, but they do look pretty though 😉

Hopefully a heel-wearer will come along and enjoy your beautiful shoes now you have let them go!

I hope so, if I can only find a heel wearer using a size 9 😉

Good for you! No point having things loitering about . . . unless they’re paying rent.

Nope, these are definitely not paying rent 😉 more the opposite – using space! 🙂

Ah yes! We all have those one-use only items!!! Feels good once you let them just go 😉

Yes it does, and I’m sure these won’t be my only “one-uses” leaving this house 😉

Great story and good on you for letting go. Sometimes it’s hard, especially when it’s pretty!

I know, and they are pretty 🙂 And looking at them in the closed, did bring back fond memories, but the memories are still there, even if the shoes are not 😉

I have totally had a one night stand too… with shoes!
Last month, I set up a photo shoot with two pairs that I wore only once last year. I took pictures of each pair so I could sell them on eBay. Interestingly enough, both pairs of heels were both worn at the same event because I changed outfits. What the hell was I thinking?! My head was definitely not in the right place.

Ah, the old “one night stand” shoes. I’ve had a couple of pairs… I try to avoid them these days. It’s just so irresistible sometimes to dress up in clothes you would usually never, ever wear!

I know! Completely irresistible 😉
