17 may, we celebrate Norway’s Constitution day.
It’s a day for celebration, parades and ice cream 🙂
People wear colourful Bunads Norway’s national costumes.
The parades starts early in the morning. In Oslo, Norway’s capital, the parades go by the castle and are being greeted by the royal family.
The kids starts with the children parade early in the morning.
The high school graduates do their own parade.
The Folk parade, is a parade that includes just about everyone. It’s typical, all sorts of clubs, sports, police, fire service, marching bands, veterans, theatre and we could go on…
All in all it’s a fun filled day, with family and friends.

Absolutely, had a great day.. and had the best place ever overlooking Folketoget (satt på kollen rett ved siden av Atlantic), and a wonderful barbeque party afterwards 🙂

It did, it really did… it was a fun filled day from the moment I got up, to the moment I stumbled into bed, full of good food, champagne and my ribs hurting from all the laughter:-)

How exciting it must be to have a royal family!

Me and my friends went into town to see the folk parade, it was long.. like at least 1 hour 30 minutes long, but it was fun as we found the perfect spot to watch it from. One day I think I want to spend 17 may in Oslo, to experience the fun in front of the royal castle. We have a great royal family 🙂
