Oops!
You might have noticed my domain name being down a couple of days, all I can say.. I’m still here!
It seems like I ran into a little hiccup with my automatic domain renewal, at my domain provider, and I’m sorry that the end result was me being off line and looking like I had completelyΒ disappeared.
As you can see, I’m still here, with no intention to go anywhere π At least I will be here, as soon as the update have gone worldwide, which I have been told could take up to 24 hours. So by tomorrow December 21st, all should be back.
If not! Please let me know, so that I can yell at somebody π
Again – I’m sorry!
Note to myself: Double check, no triple check, next time an domain renewal is due…
Glad to see you’re still here!

You are NOT there when I click on the link to your article. Instead it’s links to other sites.

Dang it! It’s probably a DNS thing, they told me it could take up to 24 hours before everything was corrected worldwide. So by tomorrow… hopefully everything is back to normal.
I hope…

Thank you π now if they could just hurry replicating the fix worldwide so everyone can read my blog again, I’ll be real happy π
I can read it at my end, but Nancy at “Spirits Lights The Way” had trouble earlier today. I don’t know if you have any problem, when you click on link to my page? Im just hoping worldwide is ok soon…

I was able to find the post with no problems. When I switched mine recently, it did take up to 24 hours for some, but most saw the change much more quickly.

Great π I like the look of you site after the switch. There is one thing thing though, I no longer can like or commend your post directly through the reader, and I have to “register” my name and domaine, to leave a comment, when I’m on your site, even if I’m logged on wordpress. Did you intend it to be this way? Or is it just something that’s wonky at my end?

Yeah, sorry about that extra step. I’m no longer hosted through WordPress which I think is the reason for that change.

Ahhhh, so that’s what’s going on… Well now that I know, I’ll be better at commenting again (was kinda holding back a little since I’ve never really left comments before via the form you now have). Was there a specific reason you switched? (Just wondering, if there is anything I need to be aware off having it through wordpress)…

By leaving wordpress.com and self-hosting I can make some money through Amazon Affiliates and can really do more with my blog. I have a lot more control over things. WordPress.org lets you self-host, but I chose a different platform. I didn’t have the best experience with some of WordPress’s limitations and customer service. I still use the WordPress software though, so it’s all still familiar to me. I think the way comments work still would have changed even if I went with WordPress.org…I think the change is mostly from self-hosting. Hopefully that all makes sense. I’m glad you found me again though! I missed hearing from you!

Makes perfect sense to me π I have to admit I did contemplate it earlier if I should “go all in” like you, but I haven’t really prioritized (with me being sick and all) spending the time in front of the PC to figure it all out. + when I started out I didn’t really know how long I would stick with it. As you probably have seen from my one year post, I’m planning on sticking with if for a wee bit longer π Maybe when I get ready to expand, I can ask you for some pointers? π

Yes, definitely! It took me two and a half years to finally make the switch, mostly because I don’t know a lot about web design and all that stuff. I had a friend help me out, otherwise it never would have been done! I wasn’t sure I’d stick with it either, but here we are almost 3 years later! π

Yeah, web design and stuff, not my thing either… Guess I’ll be needing a little help myself if I ever decide to get more adventurous on the blog π For now, I’ll keep it simple! But if I stay in 3 years like you…

Ha, ha I almost let that happen to me. I kept thinking I will renew tomorrow after work… Tomorrow after work turned into two days before my domain expired! All is well that ends well Glad you are back and blogging π

It’s funny how tomorrow suddenly is yesterday π I’ve extended my domain no for more that a year, just to make sure I don’t have this problem again any time soon. And next time it expires I will pay more attention to what my provider does…
