I did mention, that I really like flowers and plants, right?
I love surrounding myself with flowers, both indoor and outdoor. So what does this have to do with today’s post? Well, one of the curses with being a little “obsessed” with plants is that, before you know it, you have filled up the house with vases and flowerpots.
So I decided it was time to weed down the amount of vases… How many do I have?
Well, after getting rid of the bunch you see in the picture below, I still… have another bunch, left… π
And yes, as you can see from the keep pile, it’s still waaaay to many π But about 6 of them are on “probation”, and if they are not used sometime this year, they will be going! So, hopefully next year I’ll be down a few more π
But at least for now, 15 pieces of flower related things, are going out-the-door.
Wow! That sounds like me. When I get rid of a lot of stuff, I still have a lot left. π

I have to admit, vases are a weakness of mine π

Me too. Actually right now I have about five vases in my room, because I don’t know what to do with them. I might paint them.

Painting them sounds like a great idea, either all same colour (if they have different shapes) then you can put them into a decorative group. Or off course, could also be all different complimentary colours, that lookse pretty cool to as a decorative group π

Malaysia is an awesome place, there is so many places to visit. Just to mention a couple of places: Cameron Highlands, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Highlands, roam around in Kuala Lumpur, visit the Batu Caves http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batu_Caves and maybe even a quick trip to Singapore (long weekend?)

I think most of us (at some point) have a cabinet FILLED with hardly used vases simply because they always come with the flowersβ¦that’s the ONLY downside to getting flowers in my opinion ;).

It’s not really all that common to get flowers with a vase, here in Norway (thankfully) I’m afraid that most of the ones I have, I have bought myself, or got as gifts π

Ah! I see. So, I have a good excuse then ;).

Any excuse is a good excuse, you know π but yes, I guess you get to “blame” others π me on the other hand, only get to blame me π

I love the principle here! We use that on clients – If you don’t use it, or it’s not practical for you anymore, give it to someone who can make great use π Good idea with the probation. Sometimes you just need to put your things in detention to see what you truly love π Great post!

Thank you π yes I have this “allowance box” kind of system I use for things I can’t quite seem to manage to get rid off, it helps a lot with the overall declutter process.
I even have a separate page under “my declutter system” that explains my allowance box system: https://minimalistsometimes.com/category/allowance-box/ π

Funny you should write about this…Last week I cleaned out the cupboard over the fridge and found 17 vases. For someone who rarely has fresh flowers in the house that was about 16 too many! They were so pretty though I couldn’t part with them all…so 10 went out the door and I kept 7. (We almost always get vases with the flowers when it’s a gift…is that a Canadian thing?)

I think it’s a US thing as well, oh yeah and maybe even a partial UK thing (if I remember right), definitely not much of a Norwegian thing (unless it’s a orchid setup) so my pile if vases, I can only blame on myself, with the exception of one or two π
