Running amok in my guest room

This weekend I had a small kick of energy (or whatever you want to call it πŸ˜‰ ) – and I went a little crazy, roaming through some of the cabinets in my guest room, pulling everything out, looking for all those odds and ends that are just “hanging around”, never really being used.

And guess what – I ended up with quite a pile πŸ™‚ And here is the result!

Weekend TALLY of things “out-the-door” = Β 53 items

  • 9 snuggles (stuffed animals and bean babies)
  • 1 empty computer box
  • 1 empty camera lens filter box
  • 1 PC “desk” to use in your lap
  • 5 clothes storage “bags”
  • 1 decorative plate
  • 6 space bags
  • 5 books
  • 3 small paper pamphlets
  • 6 Christmas decoration items
  • 1 hanging shoe holder
  • 2 eagle creek travel gear pieces
  • 1 camera bag
  • 1 dirty linen basket
  • 1 decorative “garland”
  • 1 gym “bag”
  • 1 space saver set
  • 1 travel journal
  • 2 bathroom mats
  • 1 shoulder strap for a bag I no longer have
  • 1 bag of sticky carpet felt (to use under carpets to make them not slide)
  • 1 hanging bag for cloths

+ one pen that I found out was leaking like a sieve, when I pulled it out to add up my item manually.. now my hands looks like there has been a war going on between me and my pen 😦 Β Seriously, I look a mess….

As you can see – I’m still chugging along getting rid of things πŸ™‚

So what’s next? Hmmmmm, closet maybe?

I think I’m doing fine! I am “cheating” a bit, just giving away things from the kids’ rooms so far, but that’s because I had to clean out their closets anyway πŸ˜‰ I am hitting my bedroom and a storage-closet-thing this weekend, I’m sure I’ll make some nice finds there to give to someone πŸ™‚
I just love getting rid of the things!!

Any clutter out-the-door, is a great thing, don’t matter if it’s “your” stuff or the “kids” stuff, it’s still stuff leaving the house πŸ™‚

Hitting my clothes next! “Dear closet here I come, just watch out…” πŸ˜‰

      I agree πŸ™‚

I’ve been decluttering on and off over the last 4 years, and have reduced quite a lot. This year I decided to really “go to town” on the decluttering and really get the stuff out if the house. And hopefully get down to a home with plenty of free space.

I have to admit though (having already decluttered quite a bit before I started this year) that it is “harder” to shed! Unless I get really nuts and ruthless and toss it all πŸ˜‰ but then I would have to go shopping! And that would defeat the whole purpose of the exercise now, wouldn’t it πŸ˜‰

Yes it is πŸ™‚ so far I’ve done pretty good at giving/donating away most of the stuff I have decluttered. Luckily the few items I’ve had to actually toss, I’ve been able to put in the recycle bins.

Wow! Well done you:) What a lot of stuff to get rid of at once! It’s so nice to gain back the space after a good declutter isn’t it:)

Oh no! I’m collecting the paddington bears–that looked like the bears I am collecting! So sad right now. πŸ˜‰

If you talking about the “big” brown with a robe on, I gotta tell you, it’s not a Paddington bear. I got it at the Audi store on I10 in Houston πŸ™‚ a gift from one of the guys working there because they messed up one of my orders for a part… Why he gave me a bear I will never know, but it was the sweetest thing he could have come up with πŸ˜‰

You have arrived at “town”, I would say!! Such a wonderful clearing out! But the empty boxes!! Why oh why do we keep them??? You’re not alone there! Today I found an oatmeal box in the cupboard that had 1 paket of oatmeal in it! lol
