Oh no, here we go again :-)

I told you last year about this photo project I was starting up on… well late November I packed everything away (I desperately needed a tidy house), and it’s been out of sight since πŸ˜‰

I was thinking that now is as good a time as ever, to start back up again…

Yesterday I pulled everything out, and stacked it nicely on and around my dining room table. As you can see, from the picture below, it’s quite a load… Β “tons and tons” of albums, negatives and loose photos.

The goal is to sort out the keepers and scan them, as I want them digitized. Then after that “little” deed is done – OK maybe not so little, as I have a few thousand photos, and I’m sure, that even after I ruthlessly go through them, I will end up with another few thousand to scan – I will sort out the ones I would like to put into albums.

I’m hoping to get down to about a couple of thousand photos to scan, and less than a thousand to put into the albums. Β Wish me luck, because from the pile you see, it’s not going to be an easy task! Guess I’ll just have to eat this particular “elephant”, one album at a time… πŸ˜‰

I’m with you on this one! (didn’t I say that last year…and never did anything about it…?) February is now officially “Foto February” and I vow to pull out all of my albums (probably over 50), boxes (a dozen or so), envelopes (no idea how many) and anything else holding photos and to go through them ONCE AND FOR ALL! Good luck to you!

Minor accomplishment #1: took two overflowing photo boxes of loose photos, whittled down the contents to one box (throwing out any blurry, damaged or unidentifiable shots), and divided them roughly into distant eras (pre-me, babyhood, elementary school, high school and university). Onwards!

Great job! I’m not doing so great, I’ve found that tearing photos I want to keep, out of the albums they are glued into, is not good for the photos, so I’m struggling to find a good way to get this done as I don’t want to have to cut all of them out one by one… Hmmmm, gotta think this through!!! πŸ˜‰

Good luck with this task! I totally need to go through my old photos and negatives and digitize the ones I want to keep. Thanks for the idea! I’ll add this to my list of things to get done this year – once I get my office cleaned up so I can use it!

Thank you πŸ™‚ It seems like I need all the luck I can get.. it’s a big job and it’s getting complicated by me having “superglued” the photos into the old albums, so now I’m having problems removing them 😦 Oh well.. I will find a way πŸ˜‰
